The Men of Duffy’s Cut

In 2006/7 Tile Films made the Ghosts of Duffy’s Cut, an observational documentary which followed the efforts of the Watson brother’s four men to uncover the story of the untimely death of 57 railway workers in 1832 and to find their remains.

In March 2009 after 5 years of searching the Watson brothers have discovered the mass grave of the victims of the 1832 tragedy. A major archaeological dig is now planned for summer 2009. A new documentary The Men of Duffy’s Cut will take up the story as the dig begins. Broadcaster commitment has been obtained in Ireland and the US.

BirthWrite – Irish Literary Genius

During the early 20th century, English literature underwent a revolution.  Over the course of half a century novels, plays and anthologies of poetry were written that modernized English literature. At the forefront of this revolution was a disparate group of Irish writers, led by Yeats, Joyce and Beckett.

Over the course of the series a well known writer will also uncover how and why this revolution came about as he delves into the unique set of circumstances that saw writers from an island on the edge of Europe dominate and transform the English literary landscape.
